If a jailer or any other prison employee fails to perform his duty in defiance of this Act or the rules made under this Act or the order given by an authorized officer or shows negligence in the performance of his duty or leaves his work without obtaining permission. If it is found that he has gone or disappeared, he shall be imprisoned for up to three months or fined up to two hundred rupees or both, depending on the circumstances, if a specific punishment is prescribed in relation to any specific matter in other sections of this Act.
